These Baked Ham & Cheese Rolls are soft, buttery, and stuffed with layers of smoky ham and melty American cheese, the kind of simple, nostalgic flavors that make everyone at the table instantly happy. Whether you’re hosting a brunch, packing a game-day snack, or just craving something a little indulgent on a weeknight, this recipe delivers big payoff with almost no fuss.
What makes these rolls extra special is their sweet-and-savory honey mustard glaze. It’s brushed on while the rolls are still hot from the oven, soaking into the crevices and adding a glossy, flavorful finish. Poppy seeds bring a little texture and a hint of classic “ham and Swiss slider” energy, but with a buttery homemade twist. The whole dish feels like a cross between a pull-apart bread and your favorite deli sandwich familiar, but somehow better.
And the best part? You can make the entire recipe with store-bought pizza dough, meaning these rolls come together with minimal effort and no kneading required. A quick roll, a simple layer of ham and cheese, and a swirl into a tight log is all it takes before they’re tucked into the oven to bake. The prep is easy enough for a busy weeknight but special enough to serve for guests proof that comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated to be unforgettable.

Baked Ham & Cheese Rolls With Honey Mustard Glaze
Ingredients
- 1 lb Pizza Dough
- 8 Slices Ham
- 8 Slices American Cheese
- 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1 tbsp Poppy Seeds
- 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 1 tbsp Honey
Instructions
- If your pizza dough has been in the fridge, pull it out about 20 minutes before you start so it can warm up a bit it’s much easier to roll out when it isn’t cold.
- Set your oven to 400°F and lightly spray an 8×8 baking dish with nonstick spray.
- On a floured counter, roll the dough into a rectangle around 16” x 8” (it doesn’t have to be perfect — just roughly the size of your baking dish).
- Lay the ham slices on top of the dough in an even layer, then add the cheese right on top of the ham.
- Starting from the long edge closest to you, roll everything up into a tight log with the ham and cheese tucked inside. Use a serrated knife to cut the log into 9 equal pieces and arrange them in your prepared baking dish.
- Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until the rolls are cooked through and lightly golden (you can gently lift a layer on one roll to check if the dough inside still looks raw).
- While the rolls bake, melt the butter and whisk it together with the Dijon, honey, and poppy seeds.
- Brush this honey-mustard mixture all over the tops of the hot rolls, then pop them back in the oven for another 10 minutes or until they’re a deep golden brown.
