My Favorite Brands to Use in this Recipe:
- Bell & Evans Organic Chicken – Their chickens are raised without antibiotics or added hormones, fed a 100% organic, all-vegetable diet, and humanely cared for from hatch to harvest. What truly sets them apart is their air-chilled process. Instead of using chlorinated water baths like many brands, Bell & Evans air-chills their chicken resulting in better flavor, improved texture, and no added water weight. It means a crispier sear, juicier bites, and a more pure, natural taste. I trust it every time I want to serve something clean, simple, and truly delicious.
- Organic Pasture Raised Eggs – Best in both nutrition and animal welfare. These eggs come from hens that roam freely outdoors and forage on a natural diet, which leads to richer yolks and higher levels of vitamins like A, D, and E. The organic certification also means the hens are never given antibiotics or fed GMO grains. When I’m cooking meals to support healing and wellness, especially for my husband during his cancer journey, it’s important to me that every ingredient is as nourishing and natural as possible and these eggs are a staple in our kitchen for that reason.
- Organic Uncured Bacon – A cleaner, more natural option that doesn’t compromise on flavor. Unlike traditional bacon, uncured varieties aren’t made with synthetic nitrates or nitrites instead, they’re preserved with natural ingredients like sea salt and celery powder. Choosing organic ensures the pork comes from animals raised without antibiotics or added hormones, and fed a non-GMO diet. It’s a small but meaningful swap that aligns with my goal of cooking more intentionally, especially when making meals to support healing and long-term health. Plus, the smoky, savory flavor it adds is unbeatable!
- Chosen Foods Avocado Mayo – Made with real, wholesome ingredients and heart-healthy avocado oil instead of inflammatory seed oils like canola or soybean. It’s free from added sugars, artificial preservatives, and GMOs, making it a cleaner option for everyday meals. Rich in monounsaturated fats and full of flavor, it’s a nourishing swap that supports better health without sacrificing taste.
- Organic Veggies – I choose organic lettuce, tomatoes, and corn for my salads because quality ingredients truly matter, especially when you’re using food to nourish and heal. Organic produce is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs, which means fewer toxins in our bodies and more nutrients in every bite. I’ve found that organic veggies often taste fresher and more vibrant, adding so much flavor and color to my dishes. Knowing that these ingredients are grown in healthier soil and handled with care gives me peace of mind, especially as I cook meals to support my husband’s cancer journey. When we’re focusing on wellness from the inside out, every ingredient counts.
