Wholesome Protein Bites: A Sweet Tooth Fix You Can Feel Good About

If you’re like me, you love having something a little sweet on hand but without the crash, the additives, or the guilt. These Wholesome Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Protein Bites are one of my go-to snack recipes for just that reason. Made with simple, nourishing ingredients, they’re the perfect blend of feel good fuel and sweet tooth satisfaction. Whether you’re looking for a quick post-workout bite, a lunchbox add-on, or a healthier dessert option, this recipe delivers!

What makes these bites truly special is the quality of ingredients. Using organic peanut butter means you’re avoiding added oils and sugars, while raw honey brings natural sweetness and immune-supporting benefits. I love using Just Ingredients Vanilla Protein Powder because it’s free from artificial flavors, gums, and fillers— ust clean, nourishing protein. Organic oat flour adds fiber and keeps the bites soft and satisfying, and finishing them with chopped Hu Kitchen chocolate bars adds a rich, antioxidant boost without the refined sugar. Choosing these better-for-you options turns a simple snack into something that supports your health, not just your cravings.

My Favorite Brands to Use in This Recipe:

  • Organic Peanut Butter – Many conventional brands like JIF contain added sugar, hydrogenated oils (which are a source of trans fats), and preservatives to improve texture and shelf life. Organic peanut butter, on the other hand, is made with just one or two ingredients: peanuts and sometimes salt. It’s a cleaner option that avoids artificial ingredients. Organic peanut butter is made from peanuts without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers.
  • Organic Oat Flour – Naturally gluten-free, whole grain alternative that adds fiber, protein, and a soft, tender texture to your favorite baked goods. It’s made from just one ingredient—ground organic oats—meaning no additives, no bleached flours, and no mystery ingredients.
  • Just Ingredients Vanilla Protein Powder –  My favorite protein brand! Rich and creamy vanilla bean, all-natural protein powder made with four different protein sources and flavored without artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols. Made with 100% grass-fed whey from New Zealand. Unlike conventional protein powders that often contain artificial flavors, sweeteners, fillers, and preservatives, Just Ingredients prioritizes simple, whole-food ingredients.
  • Hu Kitchen Choclate – Unlike many mainstream chocolate brands that use refined sugars, artificial flavors, soy lecithin, and preservatives, Hu focuses on clean, recognizable components like organic cacao, coconut sugar, and cocoa butter. Hu lives by the motto “Get Back to Human,” meaning their chocolate is free from the “junk” found in conventional options:
    • No refined sugar: They use coconut sugar, a low-glycemic sweetener.
    • No dairy: All Hu chocolates are dairy-free, making them vegan-friendly.
    • No soy lecithin or emulsifiers: Common in other chocolates, these additives are avoided to keep Hu as clean as possible.
    • No palm oil: Palm oil contributes to deforestation, and Hu consciously avoids it.

Very tasty! These are definitely a little too sweet for me, so next time I make them I will use probably only half a cup of honey. I didn’t have any oat flour, so I used whole oats and they rolled together very easily. A classic combo that is a favorite in our household!
