Ingredients

  • 240 grams Flour
  • 150 grams Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 120 grams Sourdough Starter
  • 120 ml Milk
  • 120 ml Butter (melted)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 150 grams Choclate Chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the sourdough starter, milk, oil (or melted butter), eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the muffins dense. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full. Sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top for a bakery-style look.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The tops should be lightly golden.
  7. Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
